To track your Pinterest Ads effectively with WorkMagic, follow these steps to add tracking parameters to your URLs:

Step 2: Add WorkMagic Tracking Parameters

To ensure your WorkMagic tracking is properly set up, add the following parameters to your landing page URL:

  • For Non-Shopping Ads
    Add this at the end of your landing page URL:

?wm_source=pinterest&wm_medium=ads&wm_ad_id={adid}

Example URL:
https://example.com/product-page?wm_source=pinterest&wm_medium=ads&wm_ad_id={adid}

  • For Shopping Ads
    Add this at the end of your landing page URL:

?wm_source=pinterest&wm_medium=ads&wm_adgroup_id={adgroupid}

Example URL:
https://example.com/product-page?wm_source=pinterest&wm_medium=ads&wm_adgroup_id={adgroupid}

πŸ’‘ Pro Tip:
If your landing page URL already includes query parameters (e.g., ?utm_campaign=...), add the new parameters using an ampersand (&) instead of a question mark (?)

Example with existing parameters:

https://example.com/product-page?utm_campaign=spring-sale&wm_source=pinterest&wm_medium=ads&wm_ad_id={adid}

Step 3: Save and Launch

  • After adding the tracking parameters, ensure the full URL is correctly formatted.

  • Save your changes and proceed with publishing your ad.

Step 4: Verify Tracking

Once your ad is live:

  • Test your links by clicking the ad and confirming the tracking parameters appear in the URL.

  • Check your WorkMagic settings > tracking setting > Refresh the data status to confirm data collection.
