To track your Pinterest Ads effectively with WorkMagic, follow these steps to add tracking parameters to your URLs:
Step 1: Access the Ad Settings in Pinterest Ads
Go to your Pinterest Ads Manager.
Open the campaign or ad you wish to edit.
Find the Destination URL field in the ad setup section.
Step 2: Add WorkMagic Tracking Parameters
To ensure your WorkMagic tracking is properly set up, add the following parameters to your landing page URL:
For Non-Shopping Ads
Add this at the end of your landing page URL:
?wm_source=pinterest&wm_medium=ads&wm_ad_id={adid}
Example URL:
βhttps://example.com/product-page?wm_source=pinterest&wm_medium=ads&wm_ad_id={adid}
For Shopping Ads
Add this at the end of your landing page URL:
?wm_source=pinterest&wm_medium=ads&wm_adgroup_id={adgroupid}
Example URL:
βhttps://example.com/product-page?wm_source=pinterest&wm_medium=ads&wm_adgroup_id={adgroupid}
π‘ Pro Tip:
If your landing page URL already includes query parameters (e.g., ?utm_campaign=...
), add the new parameters using an ampersand (&) instead of a question mark (?)
β
Example with existing parameters:
https://example.com/product-page?utm_campaign=spring-sale&wm_source=pinterest&wm_medium=ads&wm_ad_id={adid}
Step 3: Save and Launch
After adding the tracking parameters, ensure the full URL is correctly formatted.
Save your changes and proceed with publishing your ad.
Step 4: Verify Tracking
Once your ad is live:
Test your links by clicking the ad and confirming the tracking parameters appear in the URL.
Check your WorkMagic settings > tracking setting > Refresh the data status to confirm data collection.
