WorkMagic's Conversion API Enhancer lets you send enriched customer data and first-party conversion events directly to Klaviyo via server-side CAPI. This bypasses the limitations of browser-based pixel tracking — such as ad blockers, cookie restrictions, and privacy updates — to deliver more accurate, durable signals for your marketing automation.
Important: Like Meta, Klaviyo CAPI Enhancer sends enriched first-party events — not WorkMagic-attributed events. The events transmitted are raw site conversions enriched with additional customer data to improve match quality and enable more effective segmentation and automation.
Use Cases
Here's what you can do once Klaviyo CAPI is connected:
Use Case | Description |
Enrich conversion events with first-party data | Augment your site events with customer PII (e.g., email, phone) to improve Klaviyo's identity resolution and match quality. |
Send full-funnel events server-side | Deliver events from Active on site through Placed order directly from your server, bypassing browser signal loss. |
Improve marketing automation | Better data means more precise segmentation, more effective flows, and higher-performing campaigns. |
Standard Pixel vs. CAPI Enhancer
Feature | Standard Browser Pixel | Klaviyo CAPI Enhancer |
Data Source | User's Browser | Server-to-Server |
Accuracy | Medium (affected by ad blockers) | High (bypasses restrictions) |
Data Enrichment | None | First-party data enriched |
Event Attribution | Session-based | Persistent identity-based |
Step-by-Step: How to Set Up Klaviyo CAPI
Follow the steps below to configure Klaviyo CAPI inside WorkMagic.
Step 1 - Connect the Klaviyo Platform
The first step in activating the data enrichment process is to link your Klaviyo account to the WorkMagic platform. This establishes the secure pipeline required to transmit enriched event data.
Navigate to the Settings menu in your dashboard and select the Conversion API enhancer tab. Locate the Klaviyo section. You will see a status indicator showing "Not connected." Click the Connect button to begin the authentication process. You will be prompted to provide your Klaviyo API credentials to authorize the integration.
Ensure that the API key used has the necessary permissions to manage events and profiles within Klaviyo to avoid connection errors.
Step 2 — Configure Events
After connecting, select which events to send to Klaviyo:
Event | Description |
Active on site | General engagement monitoring |
Viewed product | Catalog interest capture |
Add to cart | Purchase intent signals |
Checkout started | Final funnel stage identification |
Placed order | Successful conversion recording |
Tip: For best results, enable all available events. Full-funnel event coverage gives Klaviyo more signals for segmentation and flow triggers across the entire customer journey.
Step 3 - Monitor Event Delivery Status
Once Klaviyo CAPI is active, monitor event flow via the Delivery status tab:
Event Delivery Overview — Visual chart of events sent over time. Hover to see exact event counts and timestamps.
Event Delivery Summary — Breakdown by event type, showing total events sent, errors, and last event timestamp.
Tip: Check this dashboard weekly to ensure your match quality remains high and no integration errors are disrupting your data enrichment.
Step 4 — After Successful Setup
Once your data flow is stable:
Monitor match quality in Klaviyo — you should see improved identity resolution as enriched data flows in.
Review event volume in WorkMagic's Delivery status tab to ensure consistent, error-free delivery.
Optimize your flows and segments — leverage the richer event data for more precise targeting in your Klaviyo campaigns and automations.
